"Pero Me Acuerdo de Ti" (English: "But I Remember You") is a song written and produced by Rudy Pérez. It was first recorded by Puerto Rican singer Lourdes Robles on her album Definitivamente (1991). In the ballad, the singer remembers her lover even when she tries to forget. Nine years later, American recording artist Christina Aguilera performed a cover version on her second studio album Mi Reflejo which Pérez also produced. It was released as the second single from the album in December 2000. The music video for Aguilera's version was directed by Kevin Bray.

Aguilera performed the song live at the 2001 Grammy Awards. Her version peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States and number three in Spain. It received a Latin Grammy nomination for Record of the Year. It has been covered by Mexican singer Edith Márquez and Jencarlos Canela.

Alejandro Sanz (Spanish pronunciation: [aleˈxandɾo ˈsanθ]; born Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro; December 18, 1968) is a Spanish singer-songwriter and musician. For his work, Sanz has won a total of fifteen Latin Grammy Awards and three Grammy Awards. He has won the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year three times, more than any other artist. Throughout his career, he has released a total of eight studio albums and six DVDs. The singer is noted for his flamenco-influenced ballads, but he has also experimented with rock, salsa, and hip hop. Born in Madrid, Sanz began playing guitar at age seven, taking influence from his family's flamenco roots.

Sanz released his debut album at age sixteen, although he did not gain commercial success in Spain until his second release, Viviendo Deprisa. His next two records, Si Tú Me Miras (1993) and 3 (1995) also fared well commercially, but it was his 1997 breakthrough album Más that garnered international success. El Alma al Aire followed in 2000, selling more than a million copies in its first week.

Mi Reflejo (English: My Reflection) is the second studio album by American recording artist Christina Aguilera, released on September 12, 2000 by BMG U.S. Latin. After the commercial success of her debut studio effort, Christina Aguilera (1999), Aguilera recorded her follow-up project during 2000. It includes five Spanish-language versions of tracks from the previous album, in addition to four original compositions and two cover songs. The tracks were adapted and composed by Rudy Pérez who also produced the album.

In the United States, Mi Reflejo peaked at number-one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums charts where it spent 19 weeks at the top of both charts. The album was the best-selling Latin pop album of 2000 and was certified 6× Platinum (Latin field) by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It reached number two on the Argentine albums and was certified platinum in that country.

Upon its release, Mi Reflejo received generally mixed reviews from music critics, who noted musical similarities to Christina Aguilera. The album led to Aguilera receiving a Latin Grammy award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album, as well as a Grammy nomination, two Billboard Latin Music Awards, and a Lo Nuestro nomination.
