English: Memorial to Bishop George Pelham DD Detail of the marble memorial to Bishop Pelham by E.H.Baily in 1827. The Hon.George Pelham was born October 13th 1766, the third son of Thomas, First Earl of Chichester and finished his ecclesiastical career as Bishop of Lincoln 1820-1827. He died on February 7th 1827 at his house in Connaught Place, London, reputedly from a cold caught whilst attending the Duke of York's funeral on January 20th and was buried in the family vault at Laughton near Lewes.
